Terms & Conditions (Please Read Carefully)
By placing an order with Refined Cakes, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions:
1. Payment
Full payment is required at the time of placing your order.
Orders will not be confirmed or secured until full payment has been received.
2. Custom Cake Orders
All custom cake orders must be discussed and agreed with Refined Cakes prior to placing an order. This ensures that design, size, flavour, and all details are confirmed before payment is made.
Any order placed for a custom cake without prior consultation may be cancelled and refunded at the discretion of Refined Cakes.
For all custom cake enquiries, customers must contact Refined Cakes directly before placing an order.
3. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made within 10 days of the agreed delivery date are non-refundable, as preparation and ordering of ingredients will have commenced.
Cancellations made more than 10 days in advance may be eligible for a partial refund, minus any costs already incurred, at the discretion of Refined Cakes.
4. Changes to Orders
All requests for changes to cake design, size, flavour, colour, or other details must be made at least 10 days prior to the delivery date.
Changes requested after this time cannot be guaranteed and may be declined.
5. Delivery
Delivery is the only method of receiving orders. Collection is not available.
Delivery charges are calculated based on postcode and will be confirmed at the time of booking.
Every effort will be made to deliver at the agreed time; however, delivery times are estimates and may be affected by traffic, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances.
The cake becomes the customer’s responsibility once delivered and accepted at the agreed address.
6. Failed Delivery / Incorrect Details
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the delivery address and contact details are accurate.
If delivery cannot be completed due to incorrect information or the recipient being unavailable, additional charges may apply for re-delivery. Refunds will not be issued in these circumstances.
7. Storage and Handling
Cakes must be stored as advised at the time of delivery.
Refined Cakes is not responsible for any damage, melting, or deterioration once the cake has been delivered, including as a result of incorrect storage, handling, or environmental conditions (e.g. heat).
8. Non-Edible Items and Decorations
Some cakes may include non-edible items such as supports, dowels (including wooden dowels), boards, toppers, or decorative elements (including flowers). Cake toppers may also be secured using wooden dowels or supports.
It is the customer’s responsibility to remove all non-edible items, including any wooden dowels used to secure decorations, before serving. These items must not be consumed.
9. Product Variations
All cakes are handmade, and slight variations in design, colour, finish, and taste may occur.
While every effort is made to match agreed designs, exact replication is not guaranteed.
10. Refund Policy
Due to the bespoke nature of our products, no refunds will be issued based on personal preference, including minor variations in design, colour, or taste.
11. Reference Images
Any images provided by the customer are for inspiration only. Refined Cakes does not guarantee exact duplication.
12. Allergy & Allergen Disclaimer
Customers must inform Refined Cakes of any allergies or dietary requirements at the time of placing the order.
Refined Cakes operates from a home kitchen where all major allergens are handled, including but not limited to nuts, gluten, dairy, eggs, and soy. While every effort is made to minimise cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee that any product is completely free from allergens.
We reserve the right to decline orders where severe allergies are present. By placing an order, you acknowledge and accept this risk.
13. Photography and Marketing
Refined Cakes reserves the right to photograph all cakes and use these images for marketing and promotional purposes, including on social media and our website.
Where cakes include personal images (such as photographs of individuals), these images will be blurred or obscured before being shared publicly.
14. Discount Codes
Any discount code issued by Refined Cakes may only be used once per order transaction and cannot be reused.
Discount codes must be applied at the time of checkout and cannot be added after an order has been placed.
All discount codes are subject to expiry dates, which will be specified at the time of issue. Expired codes will not be accepted.
Discount codes have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred.
Refined Cakes reserves the right to withdraw, amend, or refuse the use of discount codes at any time where misuse, unauthorised use, or technical errors are suspected.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Refined Cakes shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or consumption of our products.
Our liability is limited to the total value of the order placed.
16. Force Majeure
Refined Cakes shall not be liable for failure to fulfil an order due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to illness, accidents, extreme weather, traffic delays, or other unforeseen events.
In such cases, a refund or alternative arrangement will be considered.
Refined Cakes reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.
